P rofessor Batavian and I were still entwined when we woke to voices in the upstairs hallway. Before I could get my bearings, there was a knock at the bedroom door and, without waiting for an answer, a tall, lanky man with mussed brown hair came swaggering through. Bodhi. Bodhi Remoussin.

Behind him trailed Colten Ryu.

Demas groaned, and staggered to his feet, placing the blanket gently over top of my exposed skin. His untucked shirt and worn pants were completely out of character but given what we’d did last night—at least twice —I was impressed he’d found time and energy to dress.

I sure hadn’t. I sat up, my breasts in complete view and reached for my shirt, tossing it over my head in one swift move. Now I had a shirt on. Yay, me!

Colten grinned like a wolf and I smiled back. “You like what you see, Ryu?”

“I love what I see, Midnight.” He responded. “You fancy some more company?”

Poor Colten, he was always getting the shaft. Or rather, he was never the one to give it. We’d have to change that real soon.

To be honest, I still couldn’t get used to the idea of being loved by one—let alone five—such handsome brave men! My eyes roved over each of them, trim in all the right places, with full lips and chiseled features. They were a feast for the eyes.

Their smiles warmed me to the core, banishing all the bad that had come with the last month. Bodhi held his arms wide and I got to my feet and met him. Tucking my face into the crook of his neck, I let him hold me. “Thank fuck you’re okay.” He whispered.

And I knew I could get through anything if he…if they…were waiting for me at the end of it all. Tears slid down my cheeks.

“You are okay, aren’t you?” Bodhi whispered, his breath warm against my cheek.

I nodded and Colten stole me from him, pulling me to the bed and settling his strong, solid physique beside me. “I’ve been waiting forever for you to wake up.” He whispered as he planted a hot kiss on my forehead. “Are you hurt?”

“Physically?” I directed my focus inward and sought out each individual ache. I paid special attention to the faded pink line where I’d cut myself while trying to escape Ludovic, what should have been a nasty scar, but found the skin smooth. “I’m healed.”

“How about up here?” He knocked on my noggin gently then poked me in the chest. “And in here?”

I tried not to think about all that happened—Ludovic, Van Rogue and my captivity, Jilaiya and her flesh-eating habits. Even though she’d been a monster, I still felt guilt over what happened. I shivered at the memory of the hounds turning her to glittery confetti dust.

“What’s the matter?” Demas sensed my discomfort. He clasped his hands behind his back, worry now pinching the skin between his eyebrows into a slight frown. Over six feet tall, my professor was worried, making me feel lucky indeed.
